How often should I change oil with frequent short distance drive everyday?

I have a 97 Lexus ES300 in Excellent condition, 135000 miles 90% highway mileage.

I have recently moved very close to work, it takes me about 10 mins to drive, and its mostly stop sign street driving no more than 40 miles/hr.

Since I have not yet bought a bike, I've been driving to work everyday. I know this is bad for the car so every weekend I go out and drive on highway to see friends, thats about 2 hours on high way a week. If I keep this up, what should I do to ensure my car's overall condition? like often oil change, etc?

Don't tell me to walk or run, I don't wanna get to work dripping sweat, I am getting a bike soon helpfully =) Thanks!|||3 months or 3,000 miles.|||3k.|||your doing ok follow your maintainance schedule the main thing is to get the car up to operating temperture this causes the lighter volitiles in the oil to (boil )off ,also getting it up to temp reduces water vapor in the exhaust past the catalyitic converter this helps the exhaust from failing from the inside out hope this helped|||The highway trips will really help the oil to purge itself of liquid contaminents. You don't need to change your maintenance schedule since you are compensating for it with your modified driving routine.|||if you change your oil yourself just put 1 quart of synthetic in and fill the rest with dino oil, this will slicken it up pretty well, change at 3000 miles.|||Try putting *Lucas* engine oil treatment and just keep the oil changed every 2500-3500 miles. You'll be ok.
