Oil Change not done by the service station?

I went for an oil change at the local service station, after an hour thinking the oil change done drove about 220 miles wihtout stopping any where till the destination. I parked in the apartment parking space went to bed. Next day morning when tried to crank the car, engine seized, towed to the nearest dealer, found engine burnt out, no oil , no leaks in the system or oil filter. Dealer claims the service station forgot to put the oil in it, because there was some residue left in the engine, and s Service station Manager claims they did the oil change, probably overnight somebody tampered, slid under the car in an apartment parking space, drained the oil, tightened the bolt, which is absurd. I am planning to sue the Service station for my repairs and expenses. Any suggestions ..|||Having worked at both a dealership and service station, I'm inclined to believe the dealer. It's odd to think, but it's very easy to simply forget to put the oil in. I've done it myself. Luckily in my case, I remembered in time, before the car left the lot.

If the Service Station owner doesn't want to fess up, feel free to sue. This is a very common issue and you should have no trouble winning. I've seen it done many times.|||Big D and Paul are right.|||i dont know but take pic of were the was siting so there can see that there is no oil resdue left there|||If the oil was drained and not replaced, there is no way you could drive 220 miles non-stop with no oil pressure. something smells here. Sorry!|||Sounds like you have it all takin care of. They said someone drained your old over night. Your motor would not have been seized in the morning. You have to run your motor for it to seize and run it for some time. You should have all you need to win this case.|||What you have is purely circumstantial evidence. It's not very likely you'll win a suit against that service station, but if you pursue it heavily you might get a settlement of some sort.|||Sounds like they are at fault. Might also want to notify the Better Business Bureau, maybe this station has been reported before. Good Luck|||Sue the service station for damages. Was it a Valvoline by chance? I went to my local Valvoline last week - TWO times and both times they were out of oil. But yeah, definitely sue the SS.|||As per the dealer, engine had some residue oil which drove 200 miles. After it's parked overnight and cooled off, engine was seized. Do you think the oil filter would show any signs of old or new.
