What happens if i dont change my cars oil?

I just recently noticed that my car needed an oil change about 1000 miles ago. I wanted to know if anything is going to happen to my car since i went over 1000 miles?|||ok everyone is right but as the man said 5000 miles its really what the ase book tells ya. But that depends on the oil and filter k%26amp;n oil filters are made for 5000 miles. the sludge generaly lock it up admeditly. If u are in fear and change your own oil get about a half gallon of deasil fuel and drain all the oil out and poor it in and run it for about 10 mins then shut it off and drain it out and poor normal oil in dont make this a habbit all the time once every 3 years will keep it running long.|||it all depends on how long you went between changes, what type of oil you're using, and what type of car you have. a lot of newer cars can go up to 5,000 miles between oil changes with no problem.

basically, when you don't change your oil, it turns into a thick sludge that builds up inside your engine, mainly up in your valves. this hurts your car's performance, and not changing your oil can result in your engine seizing.|||1000 isn't too bad, many people go too long without changing oil.

If you go several thousand miles (and I mean like 20000 or more) over, you run the risk of seizing your engine and essentially ruining your car.|||it could cause your vehicle engine fail to perform it's function.
